About Us

NWRC meetings are held in the Summer and Winter and meetings have taken various formats over the years.

The morning trainee and educator meetings have been an exciting new addition in 2017.  The trainee meeting covers elements of the generic rheumatology curriculum which can be difficult to meet in day to day clinical practice and are focusing particularly on leadership and management skills.  The educator meeting brings together rheumatology educational and clinical supervisors from across the region for the purpose of educational CPD.

The afternoon scientific meeting consists of selected oral presentations, poster session and interactive case presentations.  Trainees compete for the Mike Chalk Trophy which is awarded for the best oral presentation and the Lennox Holt Trophy awarded to the best poster presentation.  All attendees are invited to stay for dinner which is then followed by a Guest Speaker and presentation of the prizes.  The meetings provide a fantastic opportunity to meet colleagues in the region and are an excellent forum for trainees and medical students to present their work.

Meetings are supported by educational grants from the pharmaceutical industry
